Sunday, April 28, 2019 - "Prairie Wildlife & Wildflower Adventure"
An event co-hosted with the Indian Trail Chapter of the Master Naturalists, Ellis County Museum, Inc. & the Prairielands Groundwater Conservation District.
- Visitors learned about prairie birds, bees & native pollinators, wildlife identification, seed ball making, Blackland prairie soils, trees & grasses, and went on interesting and informative wildflower walks guided by the Indian Trail Chapter of the Master Naturalists.
- The Prairielands Groundwater Conservation District educational trailer provided important information on the sources and conservation of precious groundwater in Ellis and the surrounding counties.

Sunday, September 30, 2018 - "Farm Fun Day"
An event co-hosted with the Indian Trail Chapter of the Master Naturalists, Ellis County Museum, Inc., & Waxahachie Chautauqua Assembly

Noah Abbate was the winner of the Farm Fun Day Photo Contest, held on September 30, 2018, at the Ellis County Rural Heritage Farm, with a lovely photo of yellow flowers near a tree at farm headquarters.
As the contest winner, Noah received a $50.00 gift certificate to Boyce Feed & Grain and a free Charter Family Membership in the Rural Heritage Farm. In addition to being posted on the Rural Heritage Farm website and Facebook page, the winning photo will be printed and displayed at the McKinney-Aday Farm House at the Heritage Farm.

- Tour of natural areas at the farm to learn about Texas Blackland Prairie flora and fauna

Leaslie Deville was the Winner of the Wildflower & Nature Walk Photo Contest with the lovely photo of a Bee on a Flower!
As the contest winner, Leaslie received a free Charter Family Membership in the Rural Heritage Farm, which extends through December 31, 2019. In addition to being posted on the Rural Heritage Farm website and Facebook page, the winning photo has been printed and displayed at the McKinney-Aday Farm House at the Heritage Farm.
