A lot of improvements have been made or are being planned for the Farm. Historical Preservationist Contractor Shane McKinley repaired and repainted weathered areas on the 1913 farmhouse. Lonestar Roofing and Construction capped the old cistern and well near the farmhouse for the safety of visitors to the Farm. The Farm is also working with Historical Preservationist Contractor Shane McKinley on a plan to restore the historic barn. Thomas and Ashley Fabby, with Liberty Tree Services, generously donated logs for the construction of a meeting pavilion at the Farm, to be built in 2023. We look forward to continuing to make improvements at the Farm in the service of its mission: to preserve and to promote public awareness and appreciation of the natural and farming heritage of rural Ellis County, Texas.
