RESTORATION OF HISTORIC BARN IN PROGRESS

The 100+ year old barn on the Farm is being restored by Historic Preservationist Contractor Shane McKinley.  It is thought that the barn was probably built before the farmhouse, which was constructed in 1913, in order for the Henry McKinney Family to get their farming operation going before moving into the house.  Phase I of the restoration, which entailed securing the support structures and repairing the lean-to sheds on the north and south sides of the barn, has been completed.  Phase II will include replacing the metal roof and Phase III replacing deteriorated wooden siding on the barn.  The ultimate goal of the project is for the barn to be a sturdy, working barn for another 100+ years!
