STEM GARDEN STUDENTS VISIT THE FARM

The STEM Garden Project led a field trip to the Farm on May 8, 2025, to provide Waxahachie Independent School District (WISD) Life Skills Classes students the opportunity to learn about the fascinating natural heritage of the Texas Blackland Prairie.  Teachers and volunteers from the Waxahachie Seniors Center staffed various interactive stations, including learning about bees and pollinators, beautiful native birds, lovely wildflowers, Alpacas and making wool, and enjoying a nature walk and a picnic on the ground.  Organized and led by STEM Garden Project Executive Director, Jeanee Smiles, the field trip was a great success, and the Farm looks forward to hosting future outings.  See Home – Stem Education Garden for more information on the project and click here to see photos of the field trip to the Farm.
