STEM GARDEN STUDENTS VISIT THE FARM

The Education STEM Garden Project led a field trip to the Farm on May 7, 2026, to provide Waxahachie Independent School District (WISD) Life Skills Classes students the opportunity to learn about the fascinating natural heritage of the Texas Blackland Prairie. Volunteers from the Next Generation Education STEM Garden staffed various interactive stations, including learning about beautiful native birds while making a take-home bird feeder, arranging lovely wildflowers, and creating Mother’s Day Cards.  Special guest teachers Wendy Shappard and Ginger Cole introduced the students to their first experience with Bubble Art, enjoying the farm animals on a nature Scavenger Hunt, and a picnic on the grounds.  Organized and led by STEM Garden Project Executive Director, Jeanee Smiles, the field trip was a great success, and the Farm looks forward to hosting future outings.  See Home – Stem Education Garden for more information on the project and Click here to see photos of the field trip to the Farm.
