The Farm is being considered for designation as a Texas Historical Commission (THC) State Historic Site. THC strongly endorsed the Farm moving forward to Phase II of a three-phase evaluation of the Farm for this designation. This is very exciting news for the future of the Farm! THC Staff toured the Farm on Monday, August 11, 2025, to begin to evaluate the property. Staff touring the Farm included Amanda Cagle, Curator IV; Tynan Shadle, Education Specialist II; Jordan Lucier, Education Programs Coordinator; and Bill Irwin, Director of Historic Sites Operations, Texas Historical Commission. A Special “Thank you” to our community partners and supporters who wrote letters of support on behalf of the Farm for Phase I of the evaluation. There is more work to be done in Phases II and III. Nonetheless, it is an honor to be considered for this prestigious designation.
